I heard this message on the way home from work on Monday; it’s a wonderful reminder of God’s mercy, a passionate plea to the unconverted, and a great message to begin the new year.
When I get off from work at 10, I listen to Alastair Begg’s radio broadcast, Truth for Life, on the way home. I heard many of the messages from the “Life in the Spirit” series based on Romans 8 and really benefited from them. This is the first message of the series, “In Christ Jesus.” Not only will you hear a great sermon, but you can also enjoy Alastair’s Scottish accent.
Here’s the info about the sermon from the Truth for Life website:
We live in a day and age when who you are and what you do is everything. So, how should we interpret the apostle Paul’s identification of himself as a “wretched man?” Modern day onlookers might remark that Paul suffers from a poor self-image, but yet Paul’s admission is the first step towards acknowledging that no amount of good deeds can secure the status promised in Romans 8:1: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
